The 5th DC Saturdays protests to support Iranian people
Anti government Iranian protesters keep gathering for the 5th Saturday over the death of Mahsa Amini in Farragut Square, Washington, DC on October 22, 2022. Protester say in order to support the people of Iran, they will gather and protest every Saturday.
Amini died in morality police custody in Iran after being detained for allegedly not wearing a headscarf (hijab) “properly” in public. Morality police is responsible for enforcing Iran’s strict dress code for women, including the wearing of the headscarf in public.
